Our drinking water production
Aarhus Vand supplies all of Aarhus with drinking water of the best quality by filtering and aerating the water on its way to the citizens’ taps. In total 15 million cubic meters of clean drinking water are produced every year at 8 waterworks. At our waterworks the newest technology within drinking water safety is implemented ensuring the health of our consumers. Meanwhile, Aarhus Vand also maintains 1,500 km of water pipes.
We extract drinking water from about 90 groundwater wells. This is possible because of thinking ahead and always taking considerations of the resources.

The future of water production
We focus on innovation and creation of flexible facilities with minimal operational costs and ultimate water safety. Our drinking water resource and the water, we deliver to the citizens must be of the highest quality and be produced in a building of the highest quality.

Sharing technology and know-how
We are not only securing the drinking water safety for the purpose of securing health in Aarhus. In cooperation with Aarhus Municipality, we work with water management around the world. It is important to us to make sure that other countries has the same opportunities for clean drinking water.
Also, we introduce our facilities to schools, universities and others, who might be interested in learning about how we are supplying Aarhus with clean drinking water. By doing so, we inspire people to help take care of our resources.
